On the Study of Thermal Transitions in Selected n-Paraffins Using Differential Scanning Calorimetry

The results obtained from a study of the thermal transformations polymorphic long-chain normal paraffins (n-C32H66 and n-C36H74) are presented here. research was performed using power-compensated Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). Both heating cooling experiments were in dynamic nitrogen atmosphere. Thermodynamic data for both transitions, as well fusion endotherms, determined DSC curves. Using heats transition (?H), Joules/gram, curves, molar kJ/mol, calculated compared to previously published values. entropy (?S) then each observed events. Additional information is given by author on obtaining best use behavior n-paraffins. This manuscript opens with review most early work it provided dealing polymorphism n-paraffin solids. Some this referenced prior advent computerized analytical instrumentation.
